joomla 1.6: can't save configuration file

Hi,

I have finally found the time to get a joomla site up.
The jumpbox with joomla 1.6 is running fine. However, I cannot save the configuration.php

I can login with ssh and have chmod to 777: so the file is writable.
However, when saving form the admin global configuration it sais:

JFTP::login: Unable to login
JFTP::write: Unable to use passive mode
Could not save data. Error: Could not write to the configuration file

Is this a bug? I can also not login with ftp from an outside machine. How can I test what is wrong?

Hans-Cees"

There are two minor points: The console is pretty big and the in-page version can’t be moved."

Domain Age for Enomcentral | SEO Tunning

Domain Age for Enomcentral | SEO Tunning: "Well established websites have old domain names, so by inverse logics, an old domain should mean that the site is well established
Spammers register and drop domains quickly, thus logically spamming sites usually have newly registered domain names.
Generally, webmasters agree that domain age is hardly a powerful ranking factor but opinions vary:
It can be no factor at all.
It can play only a single minor factor in the millions of other factors (but it still is).
It matters a lot (as most players of this discussion seem to agree, e.g.)."
